Westerberg holed a stunning bunker shot for birdie on the first hole of sudden-death after finding the sand with both her first and second shots. It was only the fifth birdie all day on the tough par-4 18th at Golden Eagle Residence and Golf Resort course at Rio Maior.
The 31-year-old Swede had fired a closing 67 to come from five shots off the pace at the start of the day. Elosegui birdied the 18th to match her total of three under par, but was unable to repeat the trick in the play-off.

Wales’ Becky Brewerton (69) and Germany’s Bettina Hauert (67) shared third place on two under par with England’s Florentyna Parker and Scotland’s Pamela Feggans (214) among six players another stroke back.

Scot Vikki Laing finished with a total of 221, after her final effort of 73.

Delroy Cambridge of Jamaica captured his fifth European Senior Tour title - his first for seven years - after a three-hole play-off was required to decide the Jersey Seniors Classic at La Moye.

Cambridge beat Australian Mike Clayton after getting up and down from a greenside bunker at the third sudden-death hole for a par 4, while Clayton failed with his own par putt after visiting a different trap.

Cambridge was recording his second victory in Jersey, and he drew on the memories of his success in 2002 to help him catch Clayton who had led since shooting 64 on the opening day. A 68 was sufficient to match Clayton’s closing 70 and total of 207, nine under par.

Both players made regulation par 4s in the play-off, but it was Cambridge who delivered the winning blow with his perfect par putt at the third extra hole.

Jersey resident Ian Woosnam tied for 17th place.

Playing for Stonehaven against Northern Golf club in a junior pennant match at his home course Ross Anderson scored his first hole in one at the 156yd 15th hole using a seven iron.

He was partnered by Ross McAllan, Sean Stewart and Blair McPherson.

Stanley Stephen aced Longside’s 190yd 13th using a six iron. He was partnered by Stephanie Stephen and William Weir.

James Collingwood aced the same course’s 154yd 11th using an eight iron and was partnered by Gary Bonner.

Jim Hepburn of Stonehaven had a hole in one at his home course’s 221yd, 12th hole, using a three wood. He was partnered by Doug Lorimar.

Peter Wilson aced the 16th hole 153 yards on the No. 1 course at Hazlehead using a seven iron. He was partnered by Steve Walker.
