About Silver Coast News

Silver Coast News launched on the 1st February 2009 and is the leading web portal dedicated to the Silver Coast (Costa de Prata) region of Portugal. We are a privately funded business run by a small, dynamic team with offices in both Portugal (Peniche) and the United Kingdom (London).

Objective

Our objective is not only to grow Silver Coast News into the leading news portal and business directory dedicated to the Silver Coast, but also to develop it into a community where residents, businesses, investors and tourists alike can share information and communicate.

Stephanie Johnson

Stephanie moved with her family from London to the Silver Coast of Portugal in the summer of 2005 and hasn't looked back! She has had many previous occupations ranging from antique dealing to working in a gym but her favourite job was the 5 years she spent as an air stewardess. Now-a-days she rather fancies herself as a farmer but is actually just making it up as she goes along.



Emma Pitout

Emma grew up in a small village in Sweden. She left for a year long visit to London only to find herself still living in its hustle and bustle 12 years on.

The dream of a life in the sun, seafood and surf came to a reality in 2007 when she and the family decided to move to Portugal.

'It is never easy to move to another country, but boy its exciting! The thought of living a stone's throw from the beach and still being able to pack your car and go snowboarding a day’s drive away is pretty close to heaven.'



Hayden Pitout

Originally from Durban, South Africa – Hayden worked and travelled around the world for 12 years and is now happily settled and living in Portugal with his wife and two sons. Hayden is a full-time web developer and is the founder and developer of Silver Coast News. He loves everything outdoors and spends all of his free time at the beach surfing or taking photos.
